Insurance raised in no-fault accident because police lied on accident report, what can I do?

-No Fault Accident Raised Insurance: Vindictive Police Added a Surprise in the Accident Report-

My insurance premiums recently went up for being in a no-fault accident where I a salt-truck pulled 5 feet in front of me on a snowy highway off an uphill on ramp where I could not see him coming. I had to either stop and slide out or rear end him, as he was going far slower than I was and it was snowy out.

I choose to hit the breaks and not rear end the truck in fornt of me, and thus since I was going about 45 on a snowy highway I slide out and hit my rear end on the median.

The other vehicle kept on driving.

So I call police they show up, I move my car, it sitll works. They take my statement, I ask if this will be reported to inssurance they say no (it was).

It was filed and reported with my statement, and should have been a no-fault accident, but the police did something awful.

In their police report they wrote that I was “Under the Influence”, they didn't say of what. This was news to me.

I was never charged with being under the influence, I was never given a sobriety test, and I never even told they thought I was under the influence of anything!

Because of this my insurance premium is raised. I was just about to have my insurance go back to normal as I had had a DUI when I was 17, 6 years ago.

What recourse do I have here? This isn't fair. I kept asking them how this would effect insurance, and I think I annoyed them so they wrote that in the police report. They knew what would happen if they wrote that.

Can my insurance be raised on an unfounded statement? Did they have the right to write that in their report with no evidence of being Under the Influence?
